Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant General Manager located in Los Altos, CA. The Assistant General Manager will help oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, manage team schedules, and assist with staff training and development. Responsibilities also include maintaining studio equipment, handling client inquiries and concerns, assisting with marketing initiatives, and ensuring the studio meets its wellness standards. The role requires collaboration with management to support the studio’s goals and community events. Ideal candidates are confident leaders with a strong background in sales, team coaching, and customer experience. You must be motivated by growth and eager to develop into a future General Manager.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Growth: Drive membership sales, exceed revenue goals, lead promotions, and manage social media/ marketing initiatives. Team Leadership: Assist in the recruiting, training, and coaching of Member Specialists; lead workshops in sales and customer service; help maintain a strong talent pipeline. Studio Operations: Ensure studio cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and a welcoming member experience; resolve escalated customer concerns. Scheduling & Staffing: Assist General Manager with front-end and instructor schedules, coordinate, and support instructor development. Instructor Support: Partner with leadership to audit classes, provide coaching, and contribute to instructor growth. Pilates certification is a plus. Professional Development: Grow into a General Manager role through ongoing leadership training, quarterly learning goals, and hands-on experience.
Work Environment 40-hour work week, including Saturdays or Sundays Studio-based with direct team and client interactions Combination desk work with physical movement, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, and light cleaning Fast-paced studio setting Must be able to stay engaged and responsive throughout the shift Must be organized and comfortable with multitasking Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Qualifications Customer service skills and the ability to handle client inquiries and concerns Team management skills in scheduling, training, and staff development Operational skills in overseeing daily studio operations and maintaining equipment Marketing skills to assist with social media and community outreach Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience in the fitness or wellness industry is a plus Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Business Management, Sports Management, or related field preferred
