We are a rapidly growing fast casual restaurant group with a footprint across multiple locations. Our brand is known for its innovative approach to dining, commitment to quality, and a culture that champions growth, learning, and operational excellence. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an Assistant General Manager who shares our passion for the restaurant industry and is eager to grow with us.
The Assistant General Manager will oversee staff, ensure that business operations run smoothly and handle escalated customer queries. In addition, the Assistant General Manager may take over the duties and responsibilities of the General Manager in the event of their absence.
Disclaimer: This is for the Marysville location which is not open yet. You would be working in other locations for training and experience until the location is open.
Role and Responsibilities
· Assists in managing the recruitment, hiring and training of restaurant staff.
· Works with Manager to organize and oversee the staff schedules, which includes schedule writing and sales forecasting
· Manage callouts to ensure proper coverage.
· Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
· Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
· Works with Manager to develop, train, and ensure a great place to work.
· Works with Manager to conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Works with Manager to handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with restaurant policy.
· Review and manage communications in our Burgermaster Corporate communication tool.
· Assistant General Manager may from time to time be requested to move to other Burgermaster restaurant locations to gain experience and support the team
· Periodically assists with end of day financial reconciliation.
· Assist Manager by reviewing and ensuring the POS timekeeping system is accurate to ensure timely processing of payroll.
· Oversees and conducts daily inspection of food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
· Periodically evaluates restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance, schedules for service.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Strong oral and written communication, Spanish language a plus.
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous restaurant experience required; 1-2 years of management experience.
· Successful completion of corporate training program required.
· Food handler’s permit required within 7 days of hire.
· ServeSafe certifications required within 1 year of hire to Supervisory role
Work Environment
· Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
· Time divided between desk work, working in restaurant, and meetings.
· Must be comfortable working long hours, including nights and weekends.
