Assistant Maintenance Manager
The Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic upkeep of our resort property. This position supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating maintenance staff, and ensuring work orders are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support maintenance staff to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Work Order Oversight: Prioritize, assign, and track completion of guest and associate maintenance requests.
- Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance programs for guest units, common areas, and equipment.
- Property Inspections: Conduct routine property walkthroughs to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Operational Support: Assist with hands-on repairs, troubleshooting, and project completion during peak workloads.
- Vendor Coordination: Support the Maintenance Manager in scheduling and overseeing outside contractors and service providers.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA and property safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Inventory Management: Monitor tools, equipment, and supply inventories, ensuring timely ordering and cost control.
- Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with leadership, team members, and other departments.
Qualifications
- Knowledge & Skills: Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Education & Experience: High school diploma, GED, or vocational training required; technical certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Valid driver's license required.
Working Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach consistently.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet and in confined spaces.
- Exposure to variable indoor/outdoor temperatures and moderate to high noise levels.
The hourly range for this position is $30.00 to $33.00
