As a Building Controls Sales Specialist , you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by expanding ALC’s customer base and consistently exceeding sales targets. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at building strong client relationships, and delivers exceptional customer service. This role is field-focused, with approximately 80% of your time spent visiting client sites across the Greater Centennial area and 20% based in the ALC office.
The Building Controls Sales Specialist is eligible to participate in the applicable Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), rewarding high performance and sales achievement.

Key Responsibilities
Drive Commercial Growth: Expand and manage the commercial client portfolio, consistently achieving or surpassing annual sales and gross margin targets.
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors.
Strategic Market Positioning: Promote ALC as the preferred solution for building automation design, ensuring strong brand presence and market influence.
Project Estimation & Bidding: Conduct detailed take-offs and prepare competitive bids across the full range of ALC offerings.
Specification Development: Influence design specifications with consulting engineers, architects, and commercial contractors to align with ALC’s comprehensive solutions.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with contractors and stakeholders to define scope, specifications, pricing, and favorable terms and conditions.
Client Presentations: Deliver persuasive presentations to building owners and their representatives in direct engagement scenarios.
Sales Planning & Execution: Utilize CRM and sales tools to plan, track, and optimize sales activities, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
Pipeline Management: Maintain a high level of sales activity to build a robust pipeline and effectively guide opportunities through the sales cycle to closure.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
Customer Advocacy: Serve as a dedicated advocate for customers, ensuring their needs are met and satisfaction is consistently achieved.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
4+ years of sales experience
2+ years of experience in HVAC, BAS or commercial construction environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or business
Extensive experience with HVAC controls or HVAC sales
Ability to value engineer control designs with alternative solutions
Proficient in Microsoft 360 applications
Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Manage multiple tasks and priorities
Communicate effectively at all levels
Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects
