Auto Parts Counter Person Summary
The Auto Parts Counter Person is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all customers by accurately identifying customer needs, providing product solutions, and processing orders in a timely manner. Duties include assisting customers with product selection, operating a cash register, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Auto Parts Counter Person must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a strong knowledge of automotive parts, and be able to use a computer to access product information and pricing. This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy items, and working with minimal supervision.
Duties
Greet customers, provide product information and advice
Take orders, provide quotes and process payments
Maintain inventory records, stock shelves and restock as needed
Assist with ordering products and special orders
Provide support to other departments within the store
Keep work area clean and organized
Skills
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of automotive parts and systems
Ability to operate a computer and point-of-sale system
Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Requirements
Must be knowledgeable about auto parts and their functions
Must be able to accurately locate parts and answer customer questions
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers
Must be able to process orders and payments accurately
