Summary of Position
The Catering Sales & Conference Services Manger will be responsible for managing multiple clients, events and groups simultaneously to ensure client satisfaction and success in this role.
Roles and Responsibilities
Job duties include; although are not limited to:
Communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.
Prime contact with meeting/event stakeholders and ensuring all clients’ needs and expectations are met.
Responsible for selling smaller catering only events and servicing groups with rooms only and/or rooms with contributing food and beverage.
Responsible for all aspects of the selling and planning process, including, but not limited to the hotel (rooms, meeting space, food, and beverage, AV, etc.),
Attendee management and communications, shipping materials, invoicing, and budget management.
Ensure that groups/events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring accuracy.
Adheres to all Maybourne standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensures billing accuracy (always) and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill (when required).
Identifies operational challenges associated with the guests and determines how to best work with colleagues and customers to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
Uses sound judgment to integrate current trends in group/event management and event design, where applicable.
Participates in site inspections and assists with the sales process, as necessary.
Maintains collaborative and positive working relationships with all peers and departments.
Develop and maintain client relationships by delivering the highest level of customer service.
Proactively responds to requests and inquiries from attendees and clients in a timely manner
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous 5+ years of experience in an Sales and/or Events Leadership position.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment and work effectively and efficiently to support and maintain good relationships with internal departments, clients, and suppliers.

Ability to assist in conflict/problem solving internally and with suppliers/guests Knowledgeable and proficient in Event Management Software as well Word, Excel, etc.

Professional appearance and manner
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to be extremely active for long periods of time, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout an entire shift
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
