Role Overview As a Sales Representative, you will drive the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to closing new business and onboarding accounts. While you’ll engage across all stages of the process, the primary focus will be securing new customers across a wide range of sectors, including small and mid-sized businesses, restaurants, schools, corporate campuses, and enterprise organizations.
This role combines boots-on-the-ground sales with digital outreach. The right candidate is a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, communicating value clearly, and closing new business.
Responsibilities Conduct in-person visits, calls, and outreach to decision makers across restaurants, schools, businesses, and other organizations.
Prospect, identify, and build lists of qualified leads in the Triangle market.
Sell compostable products to new customers and expand product offerings for existing customers.
Represent CompostNow’s sustainability mission and value proposition with conviction and professionalism.
Manage the entire sales cycle —from initial contact to closing and onboarding.
Maintain accurate lead and pipeline data in Salesforce (or other CRM) .
Track and report weekly activity (leads generated, meetings set, deals closed).
Collaborate with the internal team, reporting directly to the department director, and share customer insights to support growth strategies.
Training and Support You will receive training on CompostNow’s products and sustainability value proposition , as well as ongoing collaboration with our internal team. You’ll report directly to the department director for alignment and support.

Requirements Proven experience in sales (any industry, B2B preferred).
Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce or equivalent).
Ability to prospect and build your own lead lists.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Confidence in in-person sales conversations (“boots on the ground” mindset).
Reliable transportation for customer visits.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with persistence to close deals.
Preferred (bonus points):
Experience in the food service, packaging, or sustainability sectors .
Familiarity with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of LinkedIn/social selling strategies.
