As a Contractor Sales Estimator at Jorgensen Company, you will report to the Central Regional Manager and play a key role in providing customers with accurate, knowledgeable material cost estimates. You’ll support a wide range of projects while ensuring compliance with NFPA Standards, local and state fire codes, and manufacturer requirements.

Responsibilities : • Generate quotes for customers based on plans, specifications or information from the customer in a timely manner. • Being able to review blueprints/plans provided for the specific section to accurately quote material for job. • Preparing product submittals. • Ability to accomplish accurate take-offs for all material quoting on job per each section that is being quoted. • Verify the correct components and/or specialty equipment and procure materials. • Acquire pricing from vendors and our distributors for all material. • Provide scope of work clarification on quotes of the intent. • Maintain logs for all jobs that are quoted and status of each job. • Follow up on outstanding bids. • Provide updates to customers regarding pricing, questions or concerns on an as needed basis. • Complete callbacks for all unsigned proposals timely and on a continuous basis to ensure there is complete communication. • Work with all Jorgensen offices and management to provide updates on jobs being quoted or sold in their region.

Qualifications & Requirements: • Ability to interpret construction blueprints and technical documents. • Minimum of 2 years’ Fire Protection Industry experience (Preferred but not required.) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, fire department personnel, property owners, management companies, technicians and office staff. • Highly motivated, self-directed and able to organize a workload. • Ability to multitask and perform basic job functions in a timely manner. • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written. • Detail oriented. • Proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook. • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Starting Pay: $20/hr.
