Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our customer support tools and services for Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute, storage, content delivery, AI/ML, database services, and more.

In this role, you will work directly with business teams as lead counsel advising your clients as they develop and operate cloud products and services, including: identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies; advising on regulatory and compliance matters, privacy, security, IP, and go-to-market strategy; drafting and negotiating global services and commercial licensing agreements; and providing day-to-day input on business strategy. Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including privacy, security, marketing, public relations, and public policy teams.
You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, a fast learner, and someone who enjoys being continually challenged and can exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience with technology, technology transactions, data privacy, or cloud computing
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound and practical business judgment
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
