Longbridge Financial (LBF) is adding to our team a Contract Database Administrator. This Contract role will play an integral part of our existing team. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (Contractor) to support the administration, monitoring, and optimization of our SQL Server and Azure-based database systems. This contractor will work closely with the Data Warehouse Architect / Manager to ensure availability, performance, and security of all data environments. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments. Implement and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instances, and SQL Server on virtual machines. Perform regular database maintenance, backups, and restore operations. Monitor performance and tune SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations. Set up and manage high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions (e.g., Always On, failover groups). Collaborate with data engineers and developers to support database design, deployment, and optimization. Ensure database security and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies. Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell or T-SQL scripts. Support deployments and troubleshoot production issues in coordination with the DW team. Document procedures, standards, and configuration changes for audit and team alignment. Qualifications: Qualifications Required: 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments. Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016 or later, including Enterprise Edition features. Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instances, and database-as-a-service offerings. Experience implementing and managing HA/DR solutions. Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and database indexing. Proficiency in database security principles and role-based access control. Strong scripting skills using T-SQL and PowerShell. Preferred / Nice to Have: Experience supporting data warehouse environments or large-scale ETL workloads. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Synapse Analytics. Understanding of compliance frameworks like SOX or FFIEC. Prior experience working as a contractor or consultant in financial services. Soft Skills Reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
