Desktop Support Technician Refurbishment & Sales DCA2242 Work Arrangement: Onsite Location: Buffalo, NY (U.S.-based only) Duration: 8 Months | 1,280 Total Hours Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only. Engagement Type: W-2 only. No sponsorships, Corp-to-Corp, or 1099 arrangements permitted. Overview: Client is hiring a Desktop Support Technician Refurbishment & Sales to support installation, configuration, and operation of end-user hardware/software and to manage the refurbishment and resale of technology equipment. The role blends hands-on technical work (repair/refurbish, imaging/configuration, inventory, shipping) with customer-facing activity for sales of refurbished devices. Youll triage ServiceNow orders/tickets, keep accurate inventory logs, and ensure equipment quality and readiness for redeployment, resale, or donation. Key Responsibilities: Refurbish laptops/desktops : clean/sanitize, inspect hardware, functional test, update firmware, reimage/reinstall OS , replace/upgrade components to meet quality standards. Configure devices to Client standards: apply system settings, install approved apps, enforce security protocols; validate network connectivity , user access, and performance benchmarks. Handle disposition of laptops, desktops, thin clients, workstations, tablets, iPhones/iPads, MiFi devices, MICR readers, scanners, journal printers, joggers, and peripherals; troubleshoot routine to moderately complex issues with basic diagnostic tools. Maintain repair inventory logs ; process ServiceNow requests for new equipment and break/fix replacements; provide workflow feedback; participate in software testing as needed. Support discovery/transport/evaluation of unused equipment; assess quality/condition; perform refurbishment for profitable sale; participate in retail sales to employees/external customers. Execute order processing, shipping, and inventory tracking for customer orders. Serve as a direct point of contact to clients/customers regarding refurbished equipment offerings. Adhere to Client risk, regulatory, and internal control standards; escalate risk-related issues as appropriate. Complete other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years combined higher education and/or work experience. Knowledge of technology , strong attention to detail , and basic PC skills . Ability to learn quickly and operate in a rapid, high-volume environment; process-oriented mindset. Comfortable meeting with clients/customers; able to work independently and collaboratively; minimal supervision required. Preferred Qualifications (if applicable): Associate degree in a technology-related field. Certifications/training relevant to end-user computing/repair. Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of people/process/technology interactions; strong written and verbal communication; effective influencing skills. Physical Requirements: Very active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must frequently lift/move 50+ lbs ; requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
