The opportunity We're seeking a Director of Media Sales to own and scale two of our most critical revenue channels: Newsletter and media sponsorship sales Strategic partnerships across affiliate, brand-to-demand, and PPC programs This is a hybrid leadership role that combines the strategic vision and execution of a senior sales leader with the operational discipline of a partnerships executive. You'll design and lead revenue strategies, manage multi-level teams, and directly own relationships with top advertisers, affiliates, and partners. This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role with visibility to the C-suite. Location: United States
What you'll do Leadership & Team Management Recruit, coach, and lead a multi-level team across sponsorship sales and partnerships (Managers, AEs, SDRs, Specialists, Coordinators). Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making. Set clear KPIs, quotas, and development plans for individuals and teams. Represent the organization with Revenue leadership, delivering accurate forecasts and strategic insights. Sales & Partnerships Execution Own strategy and revenue growth across newsletters, sponsorships, affiliates, brand-to-demand, and PPC partnerships. Manage a portfolio of high-value media clients and affiliate partners, negotiating seven-figure, multi-channel deals. Develop and evolve go-to-market packages that bundle newsletter inventory with TA's media suite (events, podcasts, display, lead gen, content). Prospect, pitch, and onboard new partners that align with TA's monetization strategy and editorial priorities. Revenue Strategy & Growth Deliver against quarterly and annual revenue targets across both media and partnership channels. Set the long-term commercial vision: forecasting, segmentation, comp modeling, and reporting to the C-suite. Identify and test new monetization opportunities across newsletters, paid media, and emerging channels. Manage yield, pricing strategy, and discount guardrails to maximize ROI. Operations & Process Excellence Enforce disciplined pipeline management, using MEDDPICC (or similar) for qualification and precise forecasting. Oversee Salesforce pipeline accuracy, billing cycles, and accounts receivables for partner portfolios. Standardize team processes for campaign execution, reporting, and partner management. Partner with Product, Editorial, Marketing, and Rev Ops to ensure operational alignment and innovation. Market Evangelism Act as an executive-level negotiator and market-facing leader. Share insights, competitive intelligence, and thought leadership internally and externally. Protect TA's brand integrity and audience trust while pushing for growth and innovation. Who you are 5+ years in digital media, ad-tech, or affiliate/partnerships revenue roles, with 4+ years leading quota-carrying managers/sellers. Proven success scaling sales teams and partnership programs from early traction to $5M+ in revenue. Strong "player-coach": able to directly close deals and manage executive relationships while leading teams. Skilled negotiator, able to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals. Proficient in Salesforce, Tableau, and affiliate platforms. Strategic, data-driven, and comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration. Salary Range We seek to hire top-tier individuals and intend for our compensation to be at a rate that allows us to recruit and retain individuals who align with our core values, purpose, mission, and vision. Final total compensation is based on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to, skill level, relevant experience to the position, and cost of labor.
