Overview Director of Sales - Amazon (Writing - Sharpie, Paper Mate etc.) role at Newell Brands. This position reports to the Amazon Vice President and is responsible for the profitable growth of the US Writing business with Amazon. Based in Seattle, WA or Hoboken, NJ, the Sales Director will execute Newell Writing strategies to increase market share, net sales and profitability through innovation acceleration, operational excellence, and seasonal event execution. This leader will maintain the current base business while identifying and pursuing new opportunities, build and maintain strong account relationships, and lead a cross-functional team to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities Lead a team of Account Managers and cross-functional personnel to develop account strategies and annual operating plans that meet Newell Brands’ budget, distribution, shelving, merchandising, and price expectations.
Engage with customers at the Category GM / DMM level, execute annual Innovation Summits, develop and deliver customer Joint Business Plans, and successfully execute marquee events.
Own P&L for the business across the customer account; demonstrate financial acumen and manage all levers including list price, allowances, rebates, markdowns, trade marketing spend, and other customer investments (e.g., Retail Media, Customer Data).
Provide monthly sales forecasts and end-to-end supply planning with the customer; understand customer distribution networks and related metrics.
Lead the monthly Customer Business Review with Segment and Enterprise Leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities to annual operating plan and JBP.
Participate in the monthly Segment Demand Review as part of the Newell S&OP process.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer decision makers and internal stakeholders; advocate for Newell and for the customer.
Lead Talent Management for the Account Management team, including recruiting, performance management, and career development for direct reports.
Qualifications Minimum 4-year degree; MBA preferred.
12+ years’ experience with National Accounts in consumer retail; Amazon and e-commerce/mar-ketplace focus strongly preferred.
5+ years of experience leading teams.
Ability to analyze syndicated and panel data; experience managing budgets across multiple customers (up to $200M).
Selling experience in consumer products across multiple brands or product lines; data-driven selling and turning insights into action.
Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and people skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced matrix environment.
Experience managing large books of business and large teams of account managers; knowledge of digital marketing strategies and KPIs.
Travel availability approximately 20%.
