Position Summary The Director of Sales lead a sales team who will be selling our Elead CRM software solution to achieve the projected sales quota and revenue growth for the year, expanding the breadth of CDK layered applications and services into new markets. Other objectives include monitoring performance, achieving financial goals, developing, motivating and counseling staff, fostering a collaborative environment, providing feedback about market conditions, and planning sales strategy per quarter to achieve fiscal year goals. This role is accountable for working with current and competitive accounts, hiring and building a successful sales team, directing and managing staff performance, handling customer issues and satisfaction, and driving efforts to increase client retention. Territory Territory consists of: WI, MI, IL (top half), IN, OH, PA, NY, MA, RI, VT, DE, ME. Must live in territory to be considered. Responsibilities & Essential Functions Utilize Sales Automation tools to define market penetration. Identify and target Competitive Prospects and plan strategy to increase the CDK Layers Applications and Services market share. Execute sales strategy to engage in sales processes in identified accounts and close sales deals. Minimally achieve your annual assigned QC Sales Plan. Utilize all resources with emphasis on the inclusion of Channel partners. Utilize Salesforce.com and sales automation tools to manage a robust pipeline and provide accurate weekly forecasting to the Director of Sales. Understand competition and proactively pursue their base. Communicate daily with channel partners and participate in team meetings and calls. Qualifications Excellent planning, project management, analytical and facilitation skills Ability to lead in a multi-functional team environment with a track record of delivering results Excellent verbal/written communication, including effective presentations to senior-level audiences Ability to make meaningful recommendations to senior management regarding strategic direction Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology applications Strong work ethic to succeed in a competitive, high-performance environment Self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively Knowledge of automotive technology and digital solutions preferred Ability to travel approximately 75% is required Quota at 100% or more every year Education/Experience 4 year college degree or equivalent experience Automotive retail experience: either working within a dealership or selling solutions to a dealership Minimum 6-8 years of related experience in leading a quota-exceeding B2B sales team Demonstrated success in a solutions selling environment 7-9 months of job-related formal Sales training 1-3 years of outside B2B sales including new business development Knowledge of automotive technology and digital solutions preferred Salary: $145,000 + Uncapped Commissions CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, certifications, and work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
