We are now recruiting for a Director of Sales who will be vital in our mission of advancing respiratory diagnostics and enhancing patient outcomes across healthcare systems.
The successful candidate will ultimately lead, and drive revenue and profitable growth within the Respiratory Diagnostic Solutions business unit at Morgan Scientific, a Vitalograph Company.
As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for overseeing all sales activities, developing and implementing effective sales strategies, and ensuring the achievement of sales goals and objectives for our respiratory diagnostics solutions across the U.S. healthcare market. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to build strong relationships with sales team members, partners, key clients, and stakeholders alike. To excel in this role, you must have a deep understanding of medical software and capital sales as well as the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and effectively communicate their value to potential customers. Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Management: Laser focus on managing the sales funnel. Use sales metrics such as leads, opportunities, closing rates, sales stage analysis, etc. to carefully manage the sales pipeline and drive the sales team towards meeting/exceeding targets while maximizing revenue and margin.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a national sales team, setting clear expectations, performance goals, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Strategic Sales Leadership: Analyze market trends, identify new business opportunities, and develop innovative approaches and sales strategies to expand our customer base, achieve revenue targets, increase market share, and profitability objectives in line with company goals.
Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and sales channels, especially within secondary care and GP networks, to expand our customer base and product reach.
Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including hospital systems, healthcare networks, and industry stakeholders, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, marketing, product development, and customer service and implementation teams to align sales strategies with product launches, service improvements, and customer needs.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Report sales performance metrics, forecasting, and budgeting regularly to executive leadership, providing strategic recommendations to enhance sales effectiveness and profitability.
Regulatory and Compliance Awareness: Ensure that sales practices comply with industry regulations, including HIPAA, FDA guidelines, and internal compliance standards.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Experience
10+ years of sales experience in the healthcare industry, with at least 2 years of experience selling software. Experience in respiratory is a plus.
3 + years in a leadership role with a proven track record of managing a high-performing sales team.
Experience selling complex solutions to healthcare providers, hospitals, and networks is highly desirable.
Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in strategic leadership roles, with strong capabilities in team development, coaching, and motivating a geographically dispersed team.
Strategic and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to develop strategic sales initiatives.
Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication, with effective negotiation and closing skills for high-value contracts.
Technical and Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the medical software landscape, complex healthcare sales cycles, and regulatory considerations.
Key Deliverables
Pipeline Management:
Foster the continual growth of the sales funnel
Report on sales metrics used to manage the sales pipeline
Sales Growth:
Achieve or exceed annual sales targets for the US, tracked and measured by Daily Sales Reporting (DSR) tools
Expand market share and establish strong market presence
Fully participate in the business planning and FC cycle within Vitalograph RDS
Team Performance
Develop a high performing sales team
Ensure continuous professional development and high employee engagement
Working Conditions
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel nationally as required to support sales efforts, attend key client meetings, and lead team development initiatives.
