Director of National Retail Accounts – Health, Beauty & Personal Care (HBA) Location: Brooklyn, NY (On-Site) Salary: $150K – $180K + Commissions + Bonus Company Overview A well-established and rapidly growing company in the Health, Beauty, and Personal Care (HBA) category, offering a diverse portfolio of current products and innovative new launches hitting shelves soon. We partner with national and regional retailers across multiple channels to deliver exceptional products, category solutions, and revenue growth. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Sales with proven, hands-on HBA experience to lead retail distribution growth and manage key national and regional retail accounts . This role focuses on building and expanding retail sales across specialty, drug, mass, food, and club channels while maximizing current retailer relationships and successfully launching innovative new beauty and personal care products . You'll work directly with retailers and collaborate closely with brokers, reps, and distributors to secure plan-o-gram placements , promotional opportunities , and category expansion . The Ideal Candidate A proven sales leader in the HBA / beauty / personal care category.
Established relationships with national and regional retail buyers .
Strong knowledge of retail distribution strategies , category management , and promotional planning .
Skilled in partnering with brokers, reps, and distributors to maximize sales growth.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute retail distribution strategies to drive growth across specialty, drug, mass, food, and club channels .
Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional retail buyers .
Secure plan-o-gram placements and promotional programs to maximize visibility and sales velocity.
Work closely with brokers, reps, and distributors to expand coverage and optimize execution.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and quality control teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing category performance.
Leverage retail analytics tools (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, etc.) to measure performance and identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications (Must-Haves) Proven sales experience in the HBA / beauty / personal care category .
Demonstrated success driving retail distribution growth across specialty, drug, mass, food, and club channels .
Strong, established relationships with national and regional retail buyers preferred.
Experience working with brokers, reps, and distributors to build coverage and optimize retail execution.
Deep knowledge of plan-o-gram execution, promotional strategy, and category management .
Comfortable using retail analytics tools to drive decisions.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills .
Willingness to travel as needed.
