Director of Sales

SCOPE of POSITION:
The Sales Director will be responsible for leading and executing the commercial strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships. This role requires a strong blend of strategic leadership, technical understanding and applications, and proven sales management expertise. The Sales Director will oversee a small team of sales professionals as well as the Customer Service, Pricing and local marketing support functions. Furthermore, the Sales Director will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, operations, procurement, and serve as a key member of the US leadership team.
Key tasks & responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical sales managers and representatives, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Oversee Customer Service, Pricing as well as Marketing functions.
Develop product requirements and roadmaps for growing existing accounts.
Steer the business with appropriate KPIs along the customer journey and tools such as CRM, lead generators etc.
Establish and mentor a New Business Development function within the sales team to identify and realize opportunities across existing and emerging markets, with a focus on new product development and cross-selling of products from other international Schill+Seilacher locations.
Represent the Voice of the Customer within the company by incorporating feedback and input from customers, partners and in-house teams on product strategy. Develop strong relationships with existing customers and act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs.
Implementation and achievement of annual sales targets for the overall sales team and ensure target achievement for individual team members.
Lead the analysis of market trends and derive strategic actions.
Negotiate short- and long-term contracts and own the order book.
Responsibility for the company's visibility in the target markets and ensuring that our brands are competitively positioned in the market.
Represent the company at industry trade fairs and meetings.
Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
Ensure compliance with international anticorruption rules, industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards in all customer interactions and contracts.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE
10 years of progressive sales experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Business or related field required; Master’s degree or higher a plus.
Proven track record of achieving sales growth, developing markets and leading sales teams in a customer-focused, business-to-business environment in the specialty chemical industry is a must.
Understanding of chemical applications and customer needs.
Experience working in Rubber or Plastics Additives, Wood Composite Business and Defoaming agents is a plus.

Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience in pricing, contracts and forecasting.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to 75% of the time.
Ideally located in the Greater Cleveland Area, with relocation offered for the right candidate.
A remote work model might be considered with the expectation of regular presence at our main US location in Stow, OH.
