Job summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, the Product Marketing Director is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving strategic go-to-market success for Equinix’s data center and networking portfolio. This high-impact role blends market insight, platform storytelling, and commercial execution. The Director will define and own the strategic narrative for Equinix’s interconnection services as well as cross-portfolio initiatives such as unified observability and global network infrastructure. They will work closely with Product, Sales, and Executive leadership to shape market strategy, enable revenue growth, and drive customer adoption through compelling messaging and content strategy.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for core interconnection and networking services, including market analysis, segmentation, and opportunity prioritization
Define differentiated product positioning and messaging that align with key customer pain points and buying stages
Lead cross-functional initiatives that span the product portfolio, such as unified observability, global network storytelling, or portfolio simplification
Act as a strategic storyteller, articulating the value of Equinix’s global infrastructure and platform capabilities to enterprise buyers, developers, and partners
Shape analyst, media, and industry perception through clear and differentiated narratives
Serve as the voice of the customer—synthesizing market and customer insights to influence product roadmaps and business decisions
Partner with Product Management and Sales to drive pipeline growth, attach strategy, and product adoption across regions
Define the content strategy for priority products and initiatives, ensuring consistency across all campaigns, web assets, sales materials, and events
Track and analyze performance metrics to assess marketing effectiveness and optimize strategic focus

Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience leading virtual teams or strategic workstreams across Product, Sales, and Marketing
Analytical Thinking: Ability to use data and insight to prioritize work, influence decisions, and measure results
Executive Communication: Comfort interacting with and influencing senior stakeholders inside and outside the company
Specific Skills
Product Marketing Leadership: Deep experience in enterprise B2B product marketing, especially in networking, interconnection, and infrastructure
Market Insight: Ability to synthesize trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback into actionable strategy
Product Launch: Proven track record in planning and executing successful GTM launches that drive business results
Sales Enablement: Skilled at equipping sales teams with tools, narratives, and training that close deals
Partner & Ecosystem Marketing: Experience in co-marketing with ecosystem partners, such as cloud providers or observability vendors (e.g., Splunk, Datadog)
Thought Leadership: Experience developing positioning and content that elevates brand authority and influences analyst and buyer perception
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
12+ years of experience in product marketing or a related function, ideally in cloud, networking, or data center technology
Demonstrated success crafting strategic messaging, launching complex products, and influencing cross-functional teams
