Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Lead a team in contacting potential clients to establish brand recognition, rapport, and arrange meetings.
Measure and analyze key performance indicators, track performance, errors, and volume and revenue figures weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
Prospect new business opportunities via internet, phone, referrals, and networking.
Research organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
Lead a team to prospect for leads to build a pipeline, including heavy cold-calling.
Find and develop new markets and increase sales.
Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.
Attract and set up new customers, grow existing relationships, and provide excellent customer service.
Succeed at price and service negotiations with customers.
Establish client relationships and create solutions based on customer needs.
Identify business opportunities for Forward Air.
Understand and manage customer requirements; execute shipments accordingly.
Independently generate new sales revenue for your team.
Translate business opportunities into incremental revenues through strong selling techniques.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency.
Study and understand market trends and seasonality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience.
Experience in LTL Transportation.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Passion for sales and the drive to succeed.
Experience managing a team to accomplish goals.
Self-motivated problem-solver with a strong desire to meet customer needs.
Ability to develop long-term relationships.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desire for a long-term career with an industry-leading company.
Ability to present and maintain a positive corporate image in a fast-paced environment.
Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with support departments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time effectively.

Experience with AS400 systems is a plus.
