Description
Chronicle Books is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ecommerce & Digital Sales Assistant to support our growing digital business. This role provides key operational and executional support across Amazon, ebook retailers, digital audiobook distribution partners, and Chronicle's own consumer and wholesale ecommerce sites. The assistant will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our product presence across platforms, ensuring accuracy and performance.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for digital sales. Experience with book publishing or book retail, Amazon Vendor Central, ebook or audiobook platforms, or ecommerce operations is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Execute day-to-day operations for Amazon, ebook, and audiobook accounts. Track ebook price promotions, manage budgets, and review return on investment. Schedule and support digital account presentations and business reviews. Assist with Chronicle's ecommerce and wholesale websites, including product setup and maintenance on Shopify, email campaign execution, and site merchandising. Manage and update product detail pages (e.g., imagery, titles, bullet points, and Enhanced Content) to support conversion and discoverability. Validate product listings across platforms to ensure consistency and accuracy. Implement updates driven by marketing campaigns, seasonal priorities, or data analysis. Submit and track stock-up requests to support sell-through and minimize out-of-stock issues. Assist with issue resolution in Amazon Vendor Central (e.g., catalog, compliance, metadata, Brand Registry). Coordinate with editorial, marketing, and production teams for timely launches and accurate pricing. Monitor and report on performance metrics for internal stakeholders. Participate in metadata clean-up and optimization projects. Adapt to new priorities in this dynamic business area. Support additional Sales Department initiatives as needed. Commit to the open exchange of ideas and help sustain and champion an atmosphere of collaboration, mutual accountability, and trust at Chronicle Books. Hiring Salary Range: $22.84-26.26/hour
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, an applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.

Schedule: Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 3 days per week in our San Francisco office, depending on project and business needs.

Requirements
Qualifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills with internal and external partners. Collaborative and proactive team player. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, or digital content platforms a plus. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 1-2 years of experience in ecommerce, digital publishing, or a related field preferred. Experience with book publishing, ebooks, audiobooks, Shopify, or Amazon systems preferred but not required.
