Job Overview
The Equine Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining client relationships within a defined multi-state territory. This position involves prospecting new clients, nurturing existing accounts, meeting or exceeding sales goals, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities
Sales Territory Goals
Set annual, measurable sales goals for the assigned territory.
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
Revenue generation
New client acquisition
Client retention and engagement
Expansion into newly licensed states
Securing first orders from all new accounts
Participate in quarterly reviews to evaluate progress and refine sales strategies.
Account Management & Growth
Identify, categorize, and understand the needs of accounts in the territory.
Develop account-specific strategies based on purchasing behavior and needs.
Identify growth opportunities within existing clients.
Maintain comprehensive notes in Zoho CRM on client interactions and potential.
Utilize sales mapping tools to uncover new opportunities.
Account Visitation & Follow-Up
Maintain a consistent client contact cadence:
A-level accounts: Weekly calls
B-level accounts: Bi-monthly calls
C-level accounts: Monthly calls
In-person visits: Minimum twice per year
Document all client engagement in CRM and adhere to follow-up protocols.
CRM Management
Actively use Zoho CRM to manage leads, track communications, and report progress.
Maintain data integrity by logging all sales activity and client communications.
Analyze client order history and use data to guide sales strategies.
Sales Goals & Performance Expectations
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
Provide consistent customer support and follow-through.
Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and strategy discussions.
Share market intelligence and competitive insights.
Sales Representative Expectations
Achieve or exceed assigned performance and revenue goals.
Deliver client-first solutions and maintain a high level of service.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Zoho CRM.
Stay current with product knowledge and market trends.
Provide feedback to the company for strategic improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of experience in sales or account management (pharmaceutical or veterinary preferred)
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
CRM proficiency (preferably Zoho or similar tools)
Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven
Equine background or experience working around horses is strongly preferred
Familiarity with veterinary medications and animal health products
Experience at racetracks or horse shows is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42, $200,000.00 per year
