In the past few years Mistwood Golf Club has grown into a small hospitality company: JBM Hospitality. Not only does the company manage a high-end, semi-private golf course, but also three restaurants (McWethys TavernRomeoville, McWethys Sports BarBolingbrook, The JamesGeneva), two banquet facilities (The Great Hall at Mistwood and The Grand Ballroom at Joliet Union Station) and a sports dome (Mistwood Golf Dome). While each property is a different concept, they share one important characteristic: each is an exciting place where enthusiastic people come together to create a special experience.
We are looking for somebody to sell the operation of banquets and events. Most of the events we host are significant life events for our clients and their guests, and we need somebody who understands, appreciates, and contributes to these moments. In short, we need someone who will play a key role on our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Event Sales Manager The Event Sales Manager is considered a full-time position that will demand being on-site and full-time hours.The Event Sales Manager will report directly to the Senior Sales Manager.Responsible for assisting in the achievement of annual sales and profits related to banquet and event sales.Also responsible for in-house banquet facilities, assisting in managing the daily operations of banquet functions, coordinate all function activity with the banquet manager and culinary teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to: Contributing to the establishment, promotion and protection of the JBM Hospitality brand Ensures that appropriate banquet event sales materials, such as sales kits and menu packages, are always updated, maintained, and available within the sales office and McWethys Tavern for potential clients Manages multiple projects concurrently where multitasking is a critical trait for this role Follows through on inquiries efficiently as they are passed down by the Senior Sales Manager Assists in executing all menu requirements and fulfills all guest-specific service requests as related by Senior Sales Manager Assists in ensuring all banquet and event function setups and breakdowns are executed correctly, efficiently and expeditiously with the banquet manager and hourly staff members, including being present to greet your client(s) Attention to detail and communication skills are a requirement Assist in helping us build sales through strategic programs and client relationships Ensures show quality standards are always maintained during site tours at Mistwood Golf Club and The Grand Ballroom at Joliet Union Station.Being able to bring the vision to life for our guest(s) Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits and staff members Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations Supports and communicates Company initiatives Respond and assist in any departmental guest service issues by reacting quickly and professionally, ensuring proper service throughout the event Coordinates the services of all operational departments and outside vendors to ensure a successful event for the client Assists with operational and administrative needs Participates in weekly BEO meetings Executes required reporting in a timely manner, including invoices Assists in completing required department reports Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable systems Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale Displays a positive attitude towards staff members
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend stretch and twist or reach. Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds and continuous repetitive motions. Work in hot, humid and noisy environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and staff members by speaking and comprehending English Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities required Reliable and responsible required Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment English reading, writing, math and computer skills required Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products Stamina to work 50+ hours or more per week or as business levels dictate Must be able to work extended shifts of 8+ hours or more as business levels dictate Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts, including some holidays, days, nights, and weekends Caterease software experience preferred Computer literacy in Microsoft Window applications required Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift Ability to remain seated for an extended time Close vision and focus capabilities to view computer screen and company documents Acting as a role model for the staff
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Annual salary in the range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year. Access to company benefit packages for medical, dental, vision, LTD and 401k Employee discount program
