Export Sales Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing a wide variety of sales support and customer-related service activities for sales of guacamole products sold to retail, food service, restaurant operations and overseas markets. Regular duties may include building customer relations, taking orders, order entry, preparing sales plans, proposals, presentations, pricing documentation, forecasting, order issue resolutions and fulfillment data. Research and collects industry, customer, tariffs, trade barriers, trade opportunities, potential customer and competitor data for analysis, presentations and proposals. Performs a variety of administrative functions as part of the Sales team that may include preparing documents, worksheets, reports, passing on information, speaking with customers or sales management, etc. Works closely with the Export Sales Director to support various export account activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset to help guide and support export growth, an ability to gain the trust of peers, clients and other partners, outstanding writing skills and attention to detail.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

Track, communicate, coordinate all account sales activity to appropriate parties/departments (price requests, sample requests, new item requests, account set-up/changes, logistics/order-production-delivery cycles with appropriate parties/departments to ensure account activity is fully communicated and completed.
Verify and enter orders ensuring accurate pricing and delivery information. May support customer account activity issues, questions, or address discrepancies.
Track customer contract volumes and report related information to the sales team. Interface with all operational and support groups.
Assess and responds to urgent issues relating to order fulfillment.
Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Compare current and future demand plans against supply and proactively implement order adjustments by working with sales and shipping related to exports.
Responsible for completion of supply and demand planning worksheets related to exports.
Proactively identifies process improvement areas and may recommend action plans related to exports.
Research and creates market reports including volume and pricing research and prepares a variety or presentations associated with market trends.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts to deliver excellent service.
Address customer issues promptly and implement corrective action to ensure satisfaction, as approved by sales management.
Partners with sales teams and customers as needed on RFP submissions, merchandising and partnership opportunities to support growth revenue.
Advise customers who may have product, service or delivery questions. Coordinate and confirm sample items and delivery information.
Verifies a variety of documents such as supplier invoices ensuring accuracy and supportive documentation.
Maintain files, a promotional calendar, word documents, or spreadsheets. Write Memos, Letters, and documents as necessary.
Completes routine administrative support and data entry using varied software applications. May use ProducePro to enter, adjust, or maintain customer order accuracy, pricing, request order system edits related to new products, set-ups, packaging, etc.
Follows policies and procedures. Completes tasks correctly and on time. Supports the organization's goals and values
Performs other sales related duties as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or higher level college degree in business, economics, international relations, political science, marketing or a related field.
Two years of related sales support experience is preferred.
Experience working with consumer goods in a Sales environment dealing with fresh food product(s), agriculture and/or food distribution is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of common logistics and export requirements related to foods
A general understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs is essential.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Experience using NetSuite, SalesForce, ProducePro, or ERP Software is helpful.
Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of management and employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure
Bilingual (Spanish / English) helpful
An interest in international food trade or international business, foreign languages, and intercultural communication and relations.

Ability to learn database management systems, problem-solve and complete tasks with a high level of accuracy.

WORK DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this Job work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to stand, walk, squat, stoop, bend, reach, talk or hear. Required to use hands and fingers finger, handle, lift, feel, push, or pull objects. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally. May be required to lift and carry light weight items to move objects.
