We’re hiring a Group Sales Coordinator to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!
Job Summary:
This role involves working closely with the Corporate Group Sales team by soliciting, contracting, allocating, and excecuting group reservations.
The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $20.75 per hour
Housing: Private Room in Shared Apartment offered at $267 per month plus $267 deposit.
Schedule: May include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities
Showcase our properties, F&B locations, and conference services to prospective clients
Solicit Group and F&B business and execute contracts with a focus on lower demand periods.
Actively solicit additional room sales and increase revenues by booking outside of allotment requests as available. This includes proactive sales calls, follow-up, and education on our product.
Answer all group requests received via email or call within 48 hours of receiving the request. Check inventory levels accurately and coordinate quoting with Revenue Management team.
Coordinate with local F&B department to ensure banquet menus are accurate to allow contracting F&B events.
Maintain and update agreements and files for Group accounts.
Build and manage assigned room blocks and F&B events within Opera and Delphi FDC systems as applicable.
Perform 3/21/30/60/90 day check on group arrivals at the specified date to manage to a high utilization rate and to ensure accuracy of group arrival.
Release and cancel group blocks as necessary within prescribed time frame of receiving notice from client.
Collect and process payments. Add rooming lists and process changes/cancellations to rooming lists in a timely manner.
Monitor and track utilization of room blocks for assigned accounts.
Process and distribute arrival packets as well as revisions to front desks based upon the established timeline and requirements.
Process Banquet Event Orders for Food & Beverage and distribute to appropriate departments based on established timeline.
Assist Front Desks and Accounting in research of account billing to verify proper billing information or to solve any billing discrepancies.
Establish and maintain a strong relationship with Corporate Central Reservations as well as other internal departments and outside strategic partners.
Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal at all Xanterra South Rim lodge properties, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
Conduct familiarization (FAM) tours to include sales presentations, property site inspections, and meal functions including maintaining FAM reservations in Delphi/PMS.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
At least one year working in a support role ideally in the hospitality industry or one year of customer service experience in a reservations or front desk capacity or comparable setting
Great Sales skills
Great Customer Service skills (internal and external)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work professionally with a diverse mix of clients
Ability to follow up, pay attention to detail and successfully handle and complete multiple tasks within prescribed schedule
Positive and upbeat demeanor and attitude
Team player
Flexibility in work schedule with willingness and ability to work hours as required to manage operation
Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Education & Experience:
Hotel and F&B Sales experience
Hospitality or travel industry experience
Customer Service experience
Proficient with PCs, including Microsoft Office applications
Previous experience with Opera PMS and Delphi FDC a plus
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Physical Requirements:
Constantly sit, stand, walk, reach outward, bend and lift/carry 10 lbs or less.
Occasionally reach above the shoulder, climb, squat/kneel, lift/carry 11 - 100 lbs and push/pull 14 - 40 lbs.
