Position Summary:
The Head of Membership Sales – Private Clubs Division is a strategic sales leader responsible for building strategic initiatives to drive membership growth, revenue performance, and retention across the owned and managed portfolios of the Private Clubs Division. This individual will develop the strategy for membership sales directors/managers at multiple private club properties, ensuring best-in-class prospecting, onboarding, and engagement strategies. The leader will serve as both a coach and a results-driven sales leader, aligning property-level execution with the company’s vision of delivering exceptional club experiences. Specifically, the Head of Membership Sales is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the membership sales plan for each of our private clubs to optimize membership mix and member counts to maximize revenue, while increasing member satisfaction and decreasing resignations across the portfolio.
In addition, the Head of Membership Sales is responsible for driving the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies and tactics at assigned properties via management and support of property-level General Manager and sales and marketing team. The scope of the position includes guiding the development and ensuring execution of property sales and marketing plans, participating in the development and implementation of company-wide sales and marketing best practices, supporting in hiring and training of sales resources, supporting new business development efforts and providing strategic input on sales, pricing, product, and revenue management strategies.
This position supports properties across the US and will be located in our Northbrook, IL office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a partner to the SVP of Private Clubs and the Private Clubs Regional Operating Executive, with a focus on sales and marketing, in driving membership strategies and financial success at portfolio of properties.
Oversee the membership sales strategy for our private clubs, maximizing revenue via membership mix, initiation fee and annual dues pricing strategy, and member engagement and retention plans.
Support and guide the development of comprehensive annual business/marketing plans to help build sound annual property operating budgets. Monitor and ensure successful execution throughout the year.
Partner with club general managers and membership directors to set sales targets, monitor performance, and achieve growth objectives.
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand market share through targeted campaigns, events, and partnerships.
Ensure consistent use of CRM systems, lead management processes, and sales reporting.
Facilitate communication efforts and support client relations.
Help manage a team of property sales and marketing managers toward meeting or exceeding their sales goals.
Champion the importance of customer insights in successful property management. Ensure properties are gathering customer insights via survey and other tools and recommend insight-driven action plans. Analyze member feedback and trends to inform strategies that enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Provide guidance and input, as needed, for the development and execution of properties’ sales and marketing tactics and membership engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
8–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in hospitality, private clubs, golf, or related luxury service industries.
Proven track record of driving multi-site sales growth and exceeding revenue targets.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Expertise in CRM systems, data-driven decision-making, and sales process management.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
