Hose & Fitting Group Management/Sales Trainee JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this role is to equip a new associate with the basic knowledge and skills needed for a career as a hose store manager or outside salesperson with Cross Hose & Fittings. Travel to multiple Cross locations will be required during training. The applicant must be willing to relocate within the Carolinas to qualify for this training program. The training program will teach the associate to provide leadership, supervision, and training of store personnel in his/her location. They will learn to assure quality performance and high levels of customer satisfaction in both the retail environment and warehouse functions. This associate will train to be responsible for all aspects of the operation, including customer service, inventory control, facility management, and personnel issues, under the guidance of the Process & Operations Manager, Sales Manager, and Group President. TRAINEES WILL BE READY TO PERFORM THESE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervision of associates which includes direction, motivation, training, and coaching in a respectful manner
Balance the workload of store associates
Acquire and exhibit proficiency in Cross Company’s performance management practices, including talent selection, setting clear expectations, delivering constructive feedback, implementing corrective actions, and fostering associate development
Learn and demonstrate an understanding of inventory management
Foster and maintain positive company-oriented behavior in relationships with customers, vendors, Territory Managers, and all co-workers in any group
TRAINEES WILL ALSO BE READY TO HANDLE THESE ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service / Inside Sales / Hose Assembly Fabrication Process customer orders to meet company performance guidelines
Accurately and efficiently specify and fabricate hose assemblies
Expedite open orders and provide delivery information for customers
Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely manner
Take inbound calls and requests from accounts, counter customers, and web leads
Issue quotes in a timely manner, including Value Drivers, using NetSuite
Understand the needs of customers and be able to match products and services to satisfy them profitably, and be able to explain the value we provide for our customers
Recognize the major features, advantages and benefits of our products and services
Facility Management Maintain a safe and clean work environment for our associates and a safe and clean retail area for our customers
Understand and abide by OSHA regulations
Maintain office equipment, assembly and fabrication equipment, buildings, and grounds
Keep records current on equipment maintenance
Understand and be able to execute the emergency action plan
Other Complete all assigned individual performance and development goals
Travel to customer and other Cross Company locations as needed
Perform various, miscellaneous tasks and projects
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High School diploma or GED required
Technical school or college preferred

NetSuite and ShipHawk knowledge and ability to complete all required tasks
Completion of ParkerStore Professional certification
Completion of the NAHAD Safe Hose certification
Cross Company basic supervisory and operations management training or Brooks Sales training, depending on next level role
