What you will do
As an HVAC Service Sales Account Executive , you will be responsible for selling Johnson Controls’ comprehensive HVAC service solutions to commercial building owners and operators. You’ll promote our industry-leading offerings—including planned service agreements, retrofit solutions, and building automation services—by delivering tailored business and technical solutions that drive operational efficiency, system reliability, and long-term value.
You will build and manage long-term customer relationships, positioning renewable service agreements as the foundation of account strategy. This role requires a proactive, consultative approach to uncovering customer needs, qualifying opportunities, and closing sales that align with Johnson Controls’ strategic growth objectives.
How you will do it
Sell Johnson Controls’ HVAC service offerings confidently and independently to building owners, facility managers, and decision-makers.
Promote the value of planned service agreements , including multi-year contracts, as a strategic tool for system performance and lifecycle cost reduction.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset, expanding Johnson Controls’ service footprint across HVAC equipment and controls.
Build strong, consultative relationships with customers by understanding their operational goals, environmental objectives, and facility challenges.
Recommend tailored solutions that link customer needs to Johnson Controls’ value proposition, differentiating our services through innovation and technical expertise.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction throughout the sales and service delivery process.
Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and execute the sales process from prospecting through close.
Participate in customer onboarding, training, and post-sale support to reinforce long-term partnerships.
What we look for
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC commercial service (e.g., air handlers, chillers, boilers) and/or building automation systems (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Trane);
OR
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 3 years of successful field sales experience in HVAC or BAS.
Strong emotional maturity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Exceptional initiative, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Demonstrated commitment to integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of successful HVAC service sales experience , with a proven track record of account growth and retention.
Understanding of the commercial HVAC service industry , including account management and interdepartmental coordination.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $69,000-102,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account project, quarterly, and annual margin. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
