Posted Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 4:00 AM PURPOSE: The IT department provides end-to-end solutions for the organization, including application development & integration, system deployment, user experience, change management, quality assurance and testing, business and data analytics, and overall project management to help the organization determine and implement the best solutions for its business needs. The Quality Assurance Analyst I is responsible for designing and executing a variety of test scenarios in order to validate development, identify and mitigate quality risks that will directly impact operations. This position will work closely with key partners in all business areas such as Applications, Operations, and Project Management. This position has an understanding of quality control and possesses a high level of attention to detail. The goal is to maintain a high quality of operations and services, contributing to the long-term success of our business. The successful candidate will continue to expand their knowledge and apply QA process, practice and principles to software development and release processes. The candidate will learn to utilize a variety of software QA tools to accomplish these goals, as well as to describe requirements for new scripts and User Stories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows the established testing methodologies and serves as an integral member of the QA Testing team. Provides input to project plans by supplying accurate time estimates in regards to testing. Review user requirements/User Stories for feasibility of testing. Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports on multiple projects of varying size. Executes test plans, test procedures, test scripts/cases, supporting SQL queries, test summaries and other test documents for the assigned software application. Analyze test results and recommend corrective action by following standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Identify and mitigate quality risks that will directly impact operations and services. SQL experience (ability to write SQL queries to prepare test data and validate results in the database) Works collaboratively within the IT department and business units to Validate that user expectations are met. Must be comfortable working in a team environment and possess a sense of accountability and urgency in completing assignments. Communicates concisely and accurately with business analysts and/or developers while evaluating test failures or potential changes. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field or relevant experience. 1 year of experience in an IT-related position, such as support, BA, software quality analyst, or software tester CTFL/ISTQB or any other testing-related certification is a plus Experience with different testing tools like JIRA, Postman, Azure Devops etc. is a plus COMPETENCIES: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong capacity for operating in a dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking is required. Ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical, and the business to interpret the requests. Entry level knowledge of testing efforts, methodologies, techniques, and tools. Entry level knowledge in the SDLC and STLC process. Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions. Must be a quick learner with the ability to adjust to multiple demands and address shifting priorities. Experience and understanding of retail specific business processes, systems and tools is a plus. Ability to maintain enthusiasm and promote a positive atmosphere, despite what is a somewhat “negative” process (, looking for or preventing problems). Ability to promote cooperation between IT teams; development, support, business analysts, and project managers. Ability to act individually and as a team member in resolving problems and completing projects. Good analytical and communication skills.
