Position Overview
A global industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Support & CRM Specialist who excels at building customer relationships through strategic use of CRM data and insights. This role is central to sales operations, combining direct customer engagement with analytical lead management and sales planning support.
In this position, you'll leverage your CRM expertise to identify opportunities, qualify leads, nurture customer relationships, and provide data-driven recommendations to the sales team. As you develop deep knowledge of products and customer base, you'll expand into analyzing customer purchase data (POS reports) to forecast trends and support strategic sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management & Inside Sales Support (Primary Focus)
* Serve as primary contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and web channels, providing timely and professional responses
* Manage and maintain the CRM system (Salesforce/HubSpot), ensuring accurate customer records, interaction history, and opportunity tracking
* Analyze customer interaction history and purchase patterns within CRM to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and predict customer needs
* Develop and qualify new sales leads from inbound sources including email inquiries, website forms, and online store orders
* Build and segment lead lists based on customer profile, purchase history, and engagement patterns for targeted outreach campaigns
* Prioritize daily outreach activities by analyzing lead scoring, customer lifecycle stage, and account potential
* Collaborate with field sales team to provide account insights, schedule appointments, and coordinate follow-up activities
* Support customers through the sales cycle by preparing quotes, product recommendations, and technical information
Sales Planning & Data Analysis (Expanding Responsibility)
* Work with sales leadership to review and analyze Point-of-Sale (POS) reports provided by key distribution partners
* Identify sales trends, inventory patterns, and market opportunities from customer purchase data
* Generate reports and insights to support sales forecasting and strategic planning
* Create presentations highlighting market trends, customer buying patterns, and growth opportunities
* Assist in developing data-driven sales strategies and customer segmentation approaches
* Support continuous improvement of CRM processes, reporting dashboards, and sales workflows
Required Qualifications
Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in inside sales, sales development (SDR/BDR), sales operations, or customer-facing sales support roles
* Proven hands-on experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar) for lead management, opportunity tracking, and customer analysis
* Demonstrated ability to analyze customer data within CRM to segment accounts, prioritize leads, and identify sales opportunities
* Experience building and managing lead lists for targeted outreach and pipeline development
* Strong track record of building customer relationships through phone, email, and digital channels
Skills:
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with ability to understand customer needs and provide solutions
* Strong analytical thinking - ability to identify patterns in customer behavior, purchase history, and market trends
* Proficiency in Excel for data organization, reporting, and analysis (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
* Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
* Self-motivated learner who can quickly absorb technical product knowledge
* Collaborative team player who works effectively with sales, operations, and management
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
* Experience in B2B industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or technical products environment
* Familiarity with pneumatics, automation, machinery, or industrial components
* Background in analyzing customer sales data or POS reports from distribution partners
* Bilingual capabilities (especially Japanese/English)
* Experience with sales forecasting or demand planning
* Certifications in CRM platforms (Salesforce Administrator, HubSpot Sales Software, etc.)
What Success Looks Like in This Role
First 90 Days:
* Master the CRM system and develop comprehensive understanding of the customer base
* Build strong relationships with key customers and internal sales team members
* Develop working knowledge of core product lines and customer applications
* Establish efficient lead qualification and outreach processes
6-12 Months:
* Consistently identify and develop qualified sales opportunities through strategic CRM analysis
* Provide actionable customer insights that drive sales team effectiveness
* Begin analyzing customer POS data to identify trends and forecast opportunities
* Contribute to sales planning discussions with data-driven recommendations
