Position Summary The Inside Showroom Sales Representative serves as the face of the company in a high-end, customer-focused retail/wholesale showroom. This role is responsible for providing consultative sales support, demonstrating products, entering orders, and coordinating with outside sales and vendor reps. The ideal candidate brings excellent communication skills, a design-conscious eye, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Essential Responsibilities Welcome customers and guide them through product selections based on their needs, style, and budget.
Conduct professional, informative product demonstrations across plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, and accessories.
Generate and follow through on sales quotes and orders using the company’s ERP or POS system.
Coordinate project timelines, specifications, and order details with customers and outside sales representatives.
Ensure showroom displays are clean, current, and fully stocked, adjusting merchandising as needed.
Maintain accurate customer records and communications in CRM or tracking systems.
Follow up on leads, quotes, and outstanding customer selections to drive close rates and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain strong product knowledge by attending vendor training and reviewing product literature.
Assist with occasional in-showroom events, vendor showcases, and design consultations.
Support special orders, product returns, and resolution of customer service issues in collaboration with purchasing or vendors.
Qualifications & Skills Required: High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience in customer-facing sales, retail, or design consultation roles.
Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills with a focus on consultative selling.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP/POS systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work retail hours including occasional Saturdays.
Preferred: Experience in kitchen and bath, lighting, or interior design-related industries.
Familiarity with showroom sales or project-based selling.
Design sensibility or background in architecture, interiors, or visual merchandising.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods (entire shift).
Ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds such as sample boards and product boxes.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repositioning of showroom displays or inventory items.
Ability to work in a showroom environment with frequent interaction and noise from customer activity.
Work Environment This role is based in a showroom environment with regular customer interaction and collaboration with sales and support staff. The position requires strong interpersonal communication, flexibility, and attention to both aesthetics and functionality of product displays.
