Position Summary
ISEC is seeking a motivated and strategic Business Development professional with proven experience in the Life Sciences sector to join our Science and Technology division! This is a remote role, sitting in either Denver, CO or Salt Lake City, UT with regular travel within the assigned territory and to client sites as required. The ideal candidate brings a consultative sales approach, technical expertise, and a strong track record of building lasting client relationships.
In this role, you are responsible for driving sales growth across ISEC's offerings-including laboratory furniture, airflow products, scientific equipment, specialty flooring, and installation services. You will identify new opportunities, engage key stakeholders, and support projects in a variety of markets, including higher education, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, commercial/industrial, and government sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and architects
Drive sales across ISEC's core scopes of work: lab furniture, airflow systems, scientific equipment, specialty flooring, and installation services
Identify and pursue project opportunities in target markets, including life sciences, higher education, healthcare, and government sectors
Network through client meetings, industry events, and affiliations with local construction and real estate organizations
Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations aligned with client objectives
Communicate effectively throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless transitions from business development to estimating and operations teams
Develop and implement strategic plans that align with client needs and ISEC's business goals
Provide outstanding customer service by responding promptly, resolving issues, and meeting all commitments
Represent and advocate for ISEC's brand and commitment to a world-class customer experience
Travel regularly within the assigned territory as needed
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the life sciences sector
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals year after year
Experience working in relevant market sectors such as biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or institutional environments
Strong understanding of customer service principles and core business practices
Familiarity with modern sales techniques and lead generation strategies
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Strong organizational skills and sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree
5+ years of consultative sales experience in the life sciences market
Track record of successfully closing capital equipment or technical solution sales
Experience selling into biotech, pharmaceutical, academic, or government accounts
Proficiency with CRM platforms for tracking and managing sales activities
Strong ability to develop long-term client relationships and strategic partnerships
