Job Description
The Lead Sales Associate for Lilly Pulitzer at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a full-time, hourly position responsible for the overall management and performance of the Lilly Pulitzer shop. Reporting directly to the Retail Manager, this role is focused on achieving budgeted net sales and direct contribution goals, while delivering an exceptional guest experience and embodying the Lilly Pulitzer brand. The Lead Sales Associate is also responsible for building and leading a high-performing team and is expected to consistently model the company’s Core Values and Core Leadership Qualities.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Retail Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Building High Performing Teams:
Recruit and Develop an A+ team
Develop, inspire, and retain top talent
Coach and develop to maximize the success and selling potential of all sales associates
Set and reinforce clear and aligned expectations, performance, results and accountability with all associates
Effectively and fairly manage and drive high performance of all associates
Create a strong store culture consistent with the Lilly Pulitzer brand, resulting in a positive and motivating atmosphere
Ensure onboarding and continued training of the Lilly Pulitzer sales associate team
Ensure that all staff is trained properly in their respective roles and responsibilities
Deliver an exceptional guest/customer experience
Demonstrate high level of business acumen
Protect the assets of the store
Strong organizational and operational competencies
Achieve or exceed Budgeted Net Sales
Positively communicate personal and outlet sales goals (Budget, ADS, UPT, SPH, EES) promotions and incentives to team
Understand financial results, annual budget and utilization of information to impact business favorably
Apply and foster strategic and critical thinking
Daily Meetings & Tasks:
Strong command of store
Review daily AVERO commentary, follow up and accountability
Daily merchandise pull/restock
Responsible for overall organization and optimization of store functionality
Compliance with retail store and company policy and procedures
Safeguard assets of store
Build and cultivate effective relationships with the guest/customer
Maintain an Upbeat, with a Team approach, atmosphere within the Sales Team, that encourages growth and creativity
Inspire others to deliver an exceptional in store experience consistent with company culture
Create an optimistic, high energy, team oriented, and sunny store atmosphere
Weekly Meetings & Tasks:
Attend the weekly Retail Leads meeting
Review and submit weekly buyers report
Review and execute product specials, sales promotions, and new product launches
Quarterly Meetings & Tasks:
Execute quarterly shop inventories in partnership with Retail Manager and Retail Distribution Center Team
Create and schedule quarterly shop deep cleaning
Review Team training needs developing appropriate training plans
Selling Effectiveness:
Analyze business performance and develop clear, actionable plans to optimize results and ensure effective execution of key initiatives
Foster strong team communication, reinforcing leadership accountability for driving sales at all levels
Build and maintain a highly satisfied and loyal customer base through consistent team follow-up and performance accountability
Create and implement company selling strategies in alignment with brand goals
Develop initiatives that enhance the overall shopping experience
Lead the retail team in executing selling strategies to meet and exceed performance expectations
Live the Culture:
Make informed, fact-based decisions that ensure the shop remains well-stocked, visually abundant, and aligned with Lilly Pulitzer brand standards
Cultivate a store environment focused on consistently delivering exceptional and engaging customer experiences
Lead by example in creating memorable guest interactions and reinforcing a customer-first mindset
Champion a culture of recognition by celebrating colleague contributions and successes
Build a cohesive, high-performing team tailored to meet the needs of the retail division
Maintain strong, open communication with the Retail Manager, Senior Buyer, and RDC team to proactively address opportunities and ensure timely, professional resolution
Operational Excellence:
Work with Visual Merchandiser to execute floor set updates and product transitions in alignment with business needs and seasonal changes
Partner with the Buying team to support and implement action plans that drive results and operational efficiency
Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures, maintaining a high standard of accountability
Integrate Loss Prevention and safety protocols into daily operations to promote a secure and well-managed environment
Qualifications
Minimum five years in retail leadership or relevant industry
Genuine optimistic approach to leadership
Ability to work store schedule as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays
Proven ability to drive sales results through a strong level of business acumen
Strong communication skills and ability to foster a customer focused selling culture
Shift Requirements:
Full Time (5 shifts weekly)
Availability: Morning shifts, Evening shifts, Weekends, Holidays
Shift Hours Needed:
8:45 AM-3:55 PM
3:20 PM - 9:15 PM
