Position Overview
The Loan Sales Assistant/Partner plays a key, high-impact role in supporting Loan Originators (Sales) by managing the borrower relationship and overseeing the full loan lifecycle from origination through post-close. Acting as a strategic partner to the Loan Originator, you will provide white-glove service, manage borrower expectations, and ensure loans progress smoothly though each stage of the process.
This position requires a blend of borrower-facing communication skills and strong lending experience, particularly in documentation review, loan structuring, and internal coordination. CRMs serve as a central liaison between borrowers, internal departments (Processing, Underwriting, Closing, Servicing, Capital Markets) and third-party stakeholders to align operation execution with borrower timeless and broader business objectives.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
- Borrower Communication & EngagementServe as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle. Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and ensure proactive follow-up to keep loan track.
- Documentation Intake & Review: Act as the first line of review for all borrower and third-party documentation. Evaluate submission for completeness, accuracy, and relevance to underwriter and compliance need before escalation.
- Pipeline Oversight: Own daily oversight of assigned loan pipelines, ensuring files progress through underwriting, processing, closing, and post-funding stages in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinate internal handoffs and escalate roadblock early.
- Loan Structing Support: Partner with loan originators and underwriters to ensure documentation and borrower engagement align with credit policy and entity structure requirements. Help frame borrower strengths and address potential red flags.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Liaison with internal departments, including Processing, Underwriting, Closing, Servicing, and Capital Market to manage loan milestones, resolve issues, and align execution with deadlines.
- Operational Execution & Tracking: Maintain internal systems and tracking tools with accurate borrower data, status updates, and internal notes. Ensure LOS reflects the most up-to-date loan progress and documentation.
- Training & Departmental Support: Assist in onboarding and cross-training of new hires or peers as directed by department leadership. Support department-level projects and initiatives as needed.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in lending operations with a background in loan processing, underwriting, or borrower-facing roles such as Loan office assistant or client relations.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume client communication and coordinate across cross -functional teams.
- Strong communication, documentation review, and pipeline management skills.
- Ability to proactively problem-solve and coordinate cross-functional across internal teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Compensation
This position requires in-office work two (2) or more days per week, to ensure close alignment among all team members. This position is full-time exempt, with salary range: $100K - $120K, depending on experience level, plus discretionary bonus potential.
