Summary

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will report to the Director of Sales-Logistics play a pivotal role in driving business growth by prospecting, nurturing leads, and converting them into valuable partnerships with clients in the transportation industry. Your outstanding communication skills and persuasive abilities will be essential in meeting and exceeding sales targets. Your industry knowledge will be valuable in pricing business both on the spot and contract markets. Responsibilities

Lead Generation: Proactively research, identify, and target potential clients within the transportation industry. Generate qualified leads through various channels, including lead generation tools, cold-calling, email, and networking.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and potential customers. Understand their unique business needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored transportation solutions.

Pricing: Provide spot market and contracted pricing to customers that yields targeted margins through knowledge of the market and pricing tools provided.

Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors ‘offerings to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead in the market.

Negotiation/Closure: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to secure profitable and sustainable business partnerships.

Collaboration: Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of transportation services, timely deliveries, and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Sales Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and updates to the Director of Sales, including progress against targets, market insights, and opportunities for improvement.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry expertise to deliver top-notch sales performance and maintain a competitive edge.

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a natural ability to build rapport and connect with clients.
  • High level of self-motivation, resilience, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced and challenging sales environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize duties to increase efficiencies to meet sales goals.
  • The skillset to be a team player and gain trust in others through your work ethic and superior communication.
  • 1-3 years of sales experience in the transportation industry.
