Job Title:Manager 1, Retail Sales Department:University Hospital | University Hospital Gift Shop To improve the lives of customers by offering a variety of products that serve their needs while delivering and maintaining excellent customer service and satisfaction. Responsible for guiding a multi-million dollar business by executing all daily, quarterly and seasonal duties of the gift shop locations. Establish success in all aspects of customer service, operations, team development, merchandise presentation and assortment. Position Scope: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Gift shop is a service organization to patients, visitors and staff of the medical center, helping to increase the reputation and overall satisfaction of the medical center. This position is focused on helping the organization achieve its goals through leadership in the discipline of retail, merchandising, and customer service. Combined, the gift shops generate over four million dollars in revenue annually. The gift shops offers a full line of merchandise including, gifts, clothing, reading materials, confectionery etc. Position Summary: Performs a variety of duties necessary to foster the continued growth of this multimillion dollar operation. Responsibilities vary from day to day but include knowledge of overall state of the stores, current staffing levels and previous days performance. Responsibilities also include company initiatives, fiscal responsibility, ensuring productivity and compliance with Medical Center policies and procedures. This is a leadership role that provides leadership to student staff and part time employees that support the customer experience, overall operations and total store results. This position also coordinates with other managers across job functions to ensure seamless operation of multiple locations.
