About the Role
The Company is seeking a Tax Managing Director with a focus on State and Local Sales and Use Tax (SALT). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to clients, evaluating and mitigating tax risks, and staying abreast of changes in tax statutes and regulations. This role involves a significant amount of research, analysis, and the development of tax strategies to benefit clients. The Tax Managing Director will also be involved in business development, marketing, and maintaining key client relationships. Additionally, the role includes supervising and training a team of tax professionals, as well as acting as a primary contact for complex tax issues.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with a Master's degree or J.D. preferred. A minimum of 10 years' experience in state and local/multistate tax is required, along with a CPA certification or other relevant certification. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. Advanced knowledge of tax standards and the ability to apply them to ensure the efficient delivery of tax services is essential. The role also requires the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships, both with clients and within the organization.
