Who You'll Work With Joining Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team means working with industry experts and technical leaders. Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with skilled field engineers, product management, and software development teams to align solutions with client goals. Supported by our world-class TAC, proof-of-concept resources, and executive support, you'll lead and innovate in the industry. Locations: Dallas, TX OR Chicago, IL What Youll Do We are seeking a collaborative, self-motivated Network Pre-Sales Systems Engineer for our Service Provider organization. You will partner with Account Managers to provide pre-sales technical support for Service Provider customers, acting as a trusted advisor to identify opportunities and gather requirements. Conduct network architectural reviews and product presentations for Open Networking Data Center, Service Provider Edge, 5G Edge, Cloud Grade Routing, and Cloud Vision platform. Design and propose high-performance Data Center & Service Provider solutions using Leaf-Spine architectures (VxLAN, EVPN, BGP) and Open IP/MPLS. Validate proof-of-concept setups, network designs, and deployments through hands-on testing. Develop design guidelines and recommend network improvements. Collaborate with Sales to respond to RFPs/RFQs. Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering. Represent Arista at industry events and conferences. Stay updated on competitors' solutions and industry trends. Author white papers on technology and products. Qualifications BS/CS/CE technical degree required. Network Industry Certification (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE). Minimum of 7+ years in L2/L3 networking design and implementation, focusing on high-performance Service Provider networks and Data Centers. Expertise in routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols. Recent experience in Leaf-Spine architecture design. Experience designing, deploying, and configuring large-scale MPLS networks. Proven work as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Architect. Expertise in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, MPLS, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS. Understanding of Cisco, Juniper solutions. Proficiency with industry-standard CLI. Experience with SDN and NFV is highly desirable. Proficient in Python, Ansible, and automation tools; experience building network automation solutions. Knowledge of competitive products and solutions. Writing white papers is a plus. Compensation The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $175,000, depending on location, skills, and experience. Additional benefits include bonuses, equity, and participation in the Sales Incentive Plan. US-based employees are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
