Territory Sales Representative
Location: Helena, Montana
Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 90% Field-Based / 10% In-Office Coverage
About the Role We’re looking for a results-driven Territory Sales Representative to join our team and help expand our customer base in the [Insert Region] market. In this hybrid role—90% outside sales, 10% inside support—you’ll be responsible for developing new business, nurturing existing accounts, and occasionally covering branch operations when needed. What You’ll Do Outside Sales (Primary Focus – 90%) Own and grow a defined territory by selling gas products and technology solutions to both new and existing customers.
Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on long-term customer success and revenue growth.
Build and manage a pipeline using CRM tools like Outlook, Call Proof, or similar platforms.
Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms with new and current customers.
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers—understanding their needs and deploying the right solutions.
Collaborate with local branch managers to support in-store sales efforts and regional growth.
Monitor and manage customer receivables in partnership with branch and finance teams.
Track and report on key performance metrics, sales activity, and profitability analyses.
Support leadership in maintaining accurate customer records and pricing structures.
Inside Sales (Occasional – 10%) Step in to assist with branch coverage when Inside Reps or Managers are out.
Respond to inbound customer calls and assist with orders and emergency service needs.
Generate quotes, support house accounts, and drive incremental sales via phone outreach.
Assist in managing AR balances and collaborating with the VP of Sales on customer benchmarks, growth goals, and pipeline development.
Help maintain positive and professional communication with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
What You Bring Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
1–3 years of sales experience (territory or industrial preferred)
Proven ability to manage and grow customer accounts
Excellent time management and critical thinking skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Comfortable using Outlook, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Background in welding, gas, or industrial supply sales
Familiarity with sales process methodologies and financial metrics (gross margin, margin %)
Goal-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
