Outside Sales Manager – Transportation Federal Way, WA Join an industry-leading transportation and logistics company recognized for excellence in heavy haul trucking, specialized transport, warehousing, and railcar services. This is a newly established division, and the Outside Sales Manager will be responsible for building its presence and capturing market share. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in heavy haul transportation , excels at prospecting and developing long-term client relationships, and is motivated to drive sustained growth. Outside Sales Manager Responsibilities Cultivate and strengthen customer relationships through consistent in-person meetings, calls, and follow-ups. Proactively generate new business through targeted prospecting and cold outreach to build a sustainable, repeat client base. Identify and capture opportunities using direct sales efforts, professional networking, and strategic market development. Prepare or support accurate estimates, proposals, and bids to meet pricing and margin objectives. Coordinate site visits and partner with operations to ensure seamless transition from sales commitment to project execution. Oversee projects after contract award to confirm customer satisfaction, address concerns, and assist with collections when necessary. Maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions, opportunities, and market insights within the company CRM. Deliver timely, detailed updates on sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and scheduled customer engagements. Outside Sales Manager Qualifications 5+ years of experience in selling heavy haul trucking, specialized transportation, or related construction or industrial services. Proven track record of sales success and customer relationship management. Strong judgment, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, customer-first mindset. Proficiency with dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to create and execute effective sales action plans. Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
