JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative who is experienced in developing lasting relationships with both independently owned businesses and larger multilocation chains. The role will require regular travel throughout CO, NM, UT and WY. Our Sales Representatives work directly with independent pet retailers to secure placement and increase our representation, primarily through education and the development of brand ambassadors. A good candidate will have the ability to develop strong, long-term relationships with store owners and retail staff. Regular visits, training seminars, and thinking on your feet are vital to developing an account and territory. The position is well supported by our management, administration, and nutritional staff members; however, it will be important that the candidates be a self-starter and work independently and as part of a larger team. This position requires between 50% - 70% travel, and the territory will include the whole of Colorado, New Mexico, parts of Utah and Wyoming. Most of our representatives average 8 – 10 overnights each month. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a candidate with

2+ years of experience in outside sales , a post-secondary education, and, although not mandatory, experience in the pet industry is desirable. The individual should be skilled with computers for company and customer communication, sales reports, and additional administrative requirements. The primary programs used in this position include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Public speaking is an important requirement of this position. The individual should be comfortable speaking with small and large groups. Remuneration:

Our compensation package will include a base salary, quarterly bonuses, and a company cellphone and automobile allowance. The sales representative will be reimbursed for travel expenses.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This position is home office-based within the Greater Denver area.

Some weekend work will be required for event management.
