Location: Based in Chicagoland Area (Territory: 200-mile radius of Chicago)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow business within a 200-mile radius of Chicago. This role is ideal for a self-driven technical sales professional with a strong background in industrial mechanical power transmission. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating new accounts, managing existing customer relationships, and serving as a trusted technical advisor for gear and gearbox solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth within the defined territory.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across industrial sectors.
Conduct regular in-person visits to customer sites for relationship building, needs assessment, and product presentations.
Provide technical guidance and collaborate with engineering to develop custom solutions.
Deliver quotations, proposals, and sales presentations.
Track customer activity and maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
Represent Overton Chicago Gear at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events within the territory.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of outside sales experience in industrial mechanical power transmission (e.g., gears, gearboxes, motors, couplings, drives, etc.).
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand mechanical systems and components.
Demonstrated success in managing a sales territory and achieving revenue targets.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel regularly within a 200-mile radius of Chicago.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor's degree Industrial Technology, Business or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
