DESCRIPTION: The Amazon Advertising Sales Finance team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Finance Manager to lead global workstreams on Sales Productivity Analysis and Sales Forecasting. This role will maintain and establish foundational analytics and surface insights across senior leadership forums. The role is responsible for defining and reviewing Sales productivity with senior leadership. This underlying data is complex given the framework encompasses inputs (e.g. customer meetings) and output (e.g. revenue) data. The productivity analyses span all Sales regions, advertiser cohorts, and Sales job functions. The sales roles include Account Executives (AEs), Account Managers (AMs), or other product specialists, each of which require a tailored approach to productivity.

The Principal Manager must have a deep knowledge of the organizational structure and selling motion in order to continually improve framework and re-validate observations. The Principal Manager oversees the weekly Sales Forecast . The forecast is critical to how Sales and Finance leaders across the business manage sales initiatives by team, locale, vertical, and product. It's a dynamic view senior leaders use to assess whether their business is on plan throughout each quarter, and which verticals, products, or teams require a path to green plan to improve results. The forecast workstream requires managing tech resources who build and maintain complex data pipelines, dashboards, and statistical package codes. In addition, forecasting across multiple product lines with varying cycles, goals, and market conditions requires a sophisticated understanding of both sales and product data. These deliverables are presented to Sales and Finance leadership bi-weekly, and require high accuracy and the ability to communicate complex data in a way that directly impacts the company's strategic direction.

Key job responsibilities - Prepare and present quarterly reviews to Ad Sales and Ads leadership - Develop productivity metrics tailored to different account types and service models - Collaborate with data science teams on complex incrementality analysis - Lead Sales Forecast process across product lines - Partner with regional Sales Finance and Ads Product Finance teams to align forecasts with business expectations - Understand and account for the impact on new product launches on existing products and interacting with Ads Product finance on potential risks to the plan - Manage technical resources for data pipeline and dashboard maintenance - Identify and communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership

About the team We are a global finance team dedicated to empowering Amazon Advertising's sales organization. Our work goes beyond numbers-we're strategic partners who provide critical insights that shape business direction and drive innovation across multiple markets and product lines. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 10+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience - Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages - Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - MBA, or CPA - Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
