Description
A Product Manager at ASUS is responsible for managing a wide range of tasks throughout the product lifecycle, with a focus on commercial business and bid response. This role collaborates extensively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and external partners to support business growth and deliver on company objectives. A key component of this position is supporting customer bids and proposals by analyzing requirements, ensuring compliance, and developing effective bid strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to customer RFPs and RFQs in alignment with product strategy and positioning
Analyze bid documents, market data, and requirements to evaluate risk and identify competitive opportunities
Develop and execute winning bid strategies that align with ASUS's commercial goals
Coordinate proposal development with internal stakeholders and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant bid submissions
Evaluate bid viability, including profitability analysis and product spec compliance
Track and report on bid performance metrics including unit volume, revenue, and margin
Act as a liaison with engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and partner teams
Stay current on competitor offerings, channel dynamics, and customer needs in commercial sectors
Support forecasting for assigned commercial product lines and manage performance against unit, revenue, and profit targets
Interpret product specs and documentation to support technical sales discussions
Participate in business strategy decisions using sound business judgment and P&L understanding
Maintain good attendance and punctuality
Perform other job duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
Strong business judgment and analytical skills
Familiarity with P&L and business case evaluation
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP), Word, Outlook
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently
Strong collaboration and organizational skills
Required Qualifications:
Years of Education Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Bid Management, or Technical Sales
Background in computer hardware sales or consumer electronics is preferred
Experience in B2B environments across commercial, education, SMB, enterprise, or government sectors
Understanding of IT sourcing processes and public/private procurement channels is a plus
Experience with Windows, Chrome, and/or Linux based hardware is required
Ability to work confidently in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and results-oriented corporate environment where a high degree of flexibility is required
Working Conditions: Requires sitting and using a computer and telephone for extended periods
Domestic travel required, approximately 20% of the time
$100,000-$150,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
