ABOUT THE POSITION Assists sales with maintenance of internal sales tools and compiling information needed for estimates and quoting. Provides project management support for assigned projects from initiation to completion. Participate in new product development projects.

Key Deliverables Maintenance of internal sales tools and databases. Support for estimating and quoting. Liaison for all internal and external stakeholders. Confirmation of technical data, site requirements, equipment specifications and job scope. Development and maintenance of outside vendor relationships. Facilitation of project completion timelines. Compliance with contract requirements and customer expectations. Safeguard project profitability, quality assurance and customer satisfaction. Research and development of new products and services to enhance market presence.

Key Activities & Responsibilities Creates and maintains internal estimating and pricing tools and databases. Assists with research and preparation of used and new equipment estimates and proposals for domestic and international markets. Leads/Participates in all meetings necessary for assigned projects. Communicates project needs and expectations with all stakeholders. Obtains critical technical data, verifies project scope, and secures customer design approvals in a timely manner consistent with the project schedule. Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors as needed for support of Astec product and service portfolio and for completion of estimates. Assists with the development of work orders in alignment with contract specifications and facilitates the order entry process. Maintains a correspondence file for each project. The correspondence file contains copies of letters, faxes, telephone numbers, conversation notes, e-mails, customer meeting notes, field drawings and sketches, layouts, and any other customer communications. Secures the involvement of appropriate Terminal Sales Managers and/or Directors whenever change of project scope is necessary. Reviews equipment drawings to ensure that equipment is designed and built according to specification. Provides information and project direction to Engineering Groups to ensure efficient, accurate and timely completion of engineering work. Monitors receipt of purchased parts, and raw materials to facilitate project timelines. Enhance project profitability by monitoring job labor and purchase part assignment. Provides quality assurance oversight prior to shipment for the reduction of short ship items and need for field rework. Addresses post shipment customer accommodations as necessary. Leads tours for customers and/or dealers through Astec, Inc. properties. Participates in new and existing product development projects to enhance Astec portfolio and market presence. Coordinates with Engineering and Purchasing to create accurate costing and pricing for new/existing product designs and revisions. Other duties as assigned by the Director of AC Storage and Blending.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are: College degree preferred but not required. Experience may be considered in lieu of college degree. Prefer advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, Power Point, Word. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings and drafting required. Ability to produce field surveys and measurements for new and retrofit applications preferred. Basic knowledge of asphalt terminals and asphalt modification plant required, including electrical and control systems. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company and with customers required. Ability to effectively work as part of a team required. The ability to work with computers, send e-mails, write memos and correspondence is required. Experience in the asphalt or construction industry is preferred. Must be able to meet regular attendance requirements.
