Key Responsibilities of Role:
The Regional Sales Development Manager (RSDM) will need to lead the development of growth opportunities within the regional business area and support the regionally aligned Clinical Sales Representatives. In addition, this individual will be required to communicate with internal colleagues, field-based external partners, and prospective customers, make sound business decisions and monitor the progress of the regional business initiatives execution and results. Important responsibilities for a RSDM include:
- Identify, gain, and lead business development opportunities within the regional business area
- Coordinate and lead planning sessions for business development and execution with direct reporting clinical sales representatives and field-based external partners.
- Define business objectives and scope, identifying involvement of internal and external stakeholders
- Identify resourcing needs to maximize potential for successful execution of Programs with Marketing and Commercial Operations colleagues.
- Collaborate with colleagues and lead the team to deliver growth results within budget limits
- Communicate business performance and progress throughout execution
- Manage customer and other stakeholder expectations to maintain productive and engaged relationships
- Engage in continual learning to remain abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging standards
- Execute other role duties as assigned
Qualifications and experience required to perform the role:
- Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent education and experience preferably in Life Sciences or Business Administration; A masters degree in management or MBA beneficial
- Relevant experience and responsibility with a proven record of contributing to medical device sales growth; respiratory focus preferred
- Experience with business development, influencing medical protocol decision makers within integrated delivery network (IDN), and gaining access to decision makers through gatekeepers.
- Experience developing relationships with key opinion leaders in a specialty field and establishing support for broadening education and champions for patients.
- Experience working across commercial disciplines in market access, device / diagnostic account management, marketing or sales
- Strong ability to lead sales initiatives with both direct reports and external partners
- Strong teamwork ethic, with a willingness to expand job functions to other areas when needed
- Strong knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office Software (ex. Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point)
Office Location
This position is field/remote based. The applicant must be willing to travel up to 60% of time and attend quarterly business reviews in the Morrisville business office, situated near the Research Triangle Park (RTP) and close to the RDU Airport.
