West Regional Sales Manager Job Summary:
The West (California, Hawaii, Oregon & Washington) Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will sell all Hill & Smith Inc.'s transportation safety and security products and services to current and prospective customers in a competitive business-to-business selling environment. The position is accountable for maximizing sales and gross profit within a defined territory by growing share within existing customers and by acquiring new customers. A Regional Sales Manager maximizes sales by solving customer problems and creating mutual value. This position is expected to focus on revenue and growth targets and perform in a high-accountability sales environment while representing Hill & Smith Inc. in a professional and expert manner as a supplier, information resource, and customer service-oriented company. They must present and represent our company values and market positioning.
Job Duties: Focus is prospecting, developing & expanding our current customer base while hitting predetermined sales, new customers & current customer revenue goals Responsible for all sales and marketing activities within territory Area of responsibility is California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington Approximately 70% travel within sales territory to meet prospects & customers Responsible for managing and growing a distributor network Business is B2B sales of transportation safety products to the following end users: general contractors, traffic safety contractors, safety supply companies, cities, counties, state DOT, etc. Responsible for sourcing and developing customer relationships by using referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face, cold calling, direct mail, email, social media and networking to find new business opportunities Responsible for keeping Salesforce CRM up to date with activity notes, follow up, & opportunity pipeline Attend industry trade shows and demonstrate products to potential customers Monitor the company's industry competitors, new products and market conditions to understand a customer's specific needs Address potential problems, and deploy prompt solutions West Regional Sales Manager Requirements: Minimum of 5 years B2B Sales Experience Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience Sales Experience within Transportation, Road Construction, Traffic Safety, Intelligent Transportation is preferred Strong customer relation and leadership skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Computer skills and proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office products Experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce Ability to lift at least 50lbs; capable of repairing equipment as well as maneuvering in and around heavy equipment without issue
