Job Summary: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for leading and growing sales operations across the Region, managing a diverse customer base—including residential homebuilders, commercial contractors, and retail lumber dealers—and promoting the company’s full range of lumber and building materials. The RSM ensures sales objectives are met through effective leadership, strategic planning, and customer relationship management. This includes providing leadership and growth strategies for installed sales, design services, and manufactured product lines—ensuring these specialized areas are integrated into the region’s overall sales strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct all sales efforts across the Region, ensuring alignment with company goals, customer needs, and market opportunities.
  • Promote the full product portfolio, emphasizing installed sales, design services, and manufactured products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including contractors, builders, and dealers.
  • Research and pursue new market opportunities and underpenetrated segments to drive growth.
  • Develop and execute pricing, promotional, and strategic plans to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the sales team to maximize performance and accountability.
  • Establish and implement sales goals, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent results.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop long-range business plans, forecasts, and growth strategies.
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer insights to guide planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and ethical business practices.
  • Communicate effectively across departments, leadership levels, and with customers to support business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of territory sales representatives.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the lumber and building materials industry, with at least 2 years in a territory or team leadership role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on root-cause resolution.
  • Strategic and operational planning experience.
  • Collaborative, results-driven leader with strong communication and executive presence.
  • Proven sales management abilities.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skilled in assessing priorities, risks, and making timely, sound decisions.
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates integrity.
  • Knowledge of lean management principles and solid project management skills.
