Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Event Manager to oversee the sales, planning, and execution of a variety of events. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation and communication skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that each event runs smoothly and meets client expectations. Dunegrass Golf Club has done a record range of 70-90 events small to large guest count per year for the past three years. Compensation & Benefits: Base salary plus commission for each event sold Gratuities earned after each event concludes Health and dental insurance Paid time off during the off-season Employee discount on clubhouse items Complimentary golf privileges Responsibilities Sell, plan, coordinate, and execute events from conception to completion, ensuring all details are managed effectively. Develop event marketing strategies to promote events and maximize attendance. Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure the best terms for the organization. Manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and reported accurately. Collaborate with catering team to design menus that align with event themes and client preferences. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the selling process, planning process and during events. Upsell additional services or products to clients when appropriate to enhance their event experience. Oversee logistics including venue setup, audiovisual requirements, and guest services. Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and identify areas for improvement. Skills Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with vendors and venues. Proficient in marketing techniques related to event promotion and audience engagement. Experience in upselling services or products related to events. Expertise in event planning processes from start to finish. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on enhancing guest experiences. Exceptional time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Comprehensive knowledge of events management principles and practices. Proficient in budgeting techniques for effective financial management of events. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and team members. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail in all aspects of event execution. Experience in banquet operations or similar hospitality environments is preferred. Familiarity with contracts related to event planning and vendor agreements. Background in catering services is advantageous for menu planning discussions. Previous restaurant or hotel experience is beneficial for understanding hospitality standards. Knowledge of fundraising techniques may be required for specific events focused on charitable causes. Strong guest services skills to ensure all attendees have a positive experience.
