Possess a genuine interest in the safety and well-being of our guests and team members. Ability to engage with customers, guests, volunteers and team members. A basic knowledge of general sales and merchandising processes. Willingness to exceed "Mission standard" expectations. Basic computer and math skills. Strong work ethic & commitment; work as scheduled- include holidays/weekends as assigned. Strong listening and communication skills to execute instructions and exhibit professionalism. Strong organizational skills to assist with multi-tasking daily assignments and special projects. Duties include but are not limited to: 1. Stock items on the sales floor from the storage room 2. Process donations as needed, steam clothing 3. Checkout processes to include use of cash register, computer, and basic math skills 4. Assist customers throughout the store; answer questions, explain processes 5. Answer phone calls to assist customers; transfer and/or take a message as requested. 6. Basic housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment. 7. All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management.
