Job Title: Sales Compensation Manager
The Sales Compensation Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing sales compensation programs that align with the company's strategic objectives! This manager will be a strategic problem solver who can analyze sales performance data, market trends, and create driven and motivating compensation plans for our sales associates.
The Sales Compensation Manager will collaborate closely with the Field Sales, Sales Enablement, Finance, and HR teams to ensure the successful execution of compensation plans through excellent change management and communication.
Ideally, this person will come from a fast-paced environment with a strategic mentality and an orientation toward process improvement and analytics. The person will be comfortable within a growing, somewhat ambiguous organizational structure and can deal with modern issues like pay transparency and evolving sales compensation priorities.
Location:
Remote anywhere in the US or Hybrid if you are in the Newport News, VA area.
Travel as needed (approximately 10% travel).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine sales compensation plans that support the company's sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and safeguards profitability. Ensure plans are competitive, equitable, and aligned with industry standards and market trends.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, HR, and Operations to keep all key partners informed and aligned to foster collaboration and drive cohesive execution.
- Partner with Sales Enablement to ensure plans and programs can be operationalized within the incentive compensation management system.
- Analyze sales compensation plan effectiveness and develop dashboards to monitor payout distributions, compensation cost of sales, plan ROI, etc. that will provide actionable insights and recommendations for plan changes.
- Support the development of clear communication material and content to educate sales teams on plan design, mechanics, and objectives.
- Ensure that sales compensation programs follow relevant legal and regulatory requirements while adhering to internal policies.
- Gain and maintain an understanding of the company's market landscape to ensure competitiveness and the ability to attract and retain top sales talent.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in sales compensation through self-learning, attend conferences and webinars, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business, finance, or related fields required.
- 5+ years of proven sales compensation experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize and interpret complex data and use it to drive strategic decisions.
- Success in crafting and articulating ideas to both leadership and peers in the context of business priorities and needs.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and influence others to implement recommendations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sales compensation best practices, industry benchmarks, and market trends.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements pertaining to sales compensation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
